Payments & Checkout

This guide matches what you see in Ecloras today. Tap ? next to a page title anytime for a short summary and a link back here.

Payments & Checkout uses sub-tabs: Overview, Booking payments, Checkout, and Payouts. Connect your own Stripe payout account so cards and deposits go to your bank — not to Ecloras.

Checkout tab turns Track payments at checkout on or off — when off, Finish on Queue completes the visit with no checkout screen, receipts, or payment totals.

Booking payment note is the text under Total on the public booking summary. Clear it to hide. (Moved here from Floor & Booking.)

Tap Connect payouts with Stripe and finish the short identity + bank form.
When it shows Connected (green check), Queue Checkout can Charge with Stripe, and you can optionally turn on Require card during online booking.
For online booking: choose card on file only or take a deposit, and set the deposit amount if needed. Clients can use Apple Pay or enter a card on the booking Details step — they stay on your site.

After you connect, Balance & payouts shows your available and pending Stripe balance, Stripe’s card processing rate (2.9% + $0.30 per successful US online charge), recent bank payouts, and card activity with the exact fee on each row.

Tips & pay link settings control tip presets (percent or dollars, or tips off) for in-app Card checkout, whether to ask for / auto-send a studio receipt after they pay, whether to show Book again, and whether to also email Stripe’s own card receipt (off by default).

Discount codes now live under Settings → Discounts & Promotions.

Need to change your bank later? Use Update payout details in Stripe under the Connected status.

Connect is what lets Card take a real Stripe charge. Void or Refund on a Card (Stripe) checkout also refunds the card in Stripe.

Common questions

Does Ecloras keep the client’s money?

No. Charges settle to your connected Stripe account, then your bank.

What does Stripe charge per card payment?

Stripe’s standard US online card rate is 2.9% + $0.30 per successful charge. Apple Pay and Google Pay use the same card rates. You’ll see that rate under Balance & payouts, and the exact fee on each Recent card activity row.

Where do I see payouts and fees?

On Payments & Checkout, under Balance & payouts — processing rate, available balance, pending, recent bank payouts, and card activity with Stripe fees. Refresh anytime.

How do late-cancel fees work?

Under Payments & Checkout, turn on Late cancel / no-show fee and set the amount. When a visit booked with a card on file is Walked out, you can charge that fee from the saved card.

Why can’t I turn on deposits yet?

Finish Stripe Connect until you see Connected with a green check. If Connect payouts is unavailable, Ecloras Support still needs to add Stripe on the platform.

Is this the same as checkout on Queue?

Same Stripe account. Online booking can require a card or deposit before the appointment is booked. Queue Checkout can Charge with Stripe for the visit total (and tip). Cash and apps on Checkout are still just notes.

Where did Track payments at checkout go?

Settings → Payments & Checkout → Checkout → Track payments at checkout.

Where is the booking payment note?

Settings → Payments & Checkout → Booking payments → Booking payment note. It appears under Total on the public booking summary. Clear the text to hide it.

Will clients see a Stripe website?

No. Apple Pay and card entry stay on your booking page and Checkout screen. Stripe powers the form securely in the background.

Can I change tip buttons at checkout?

Yes — under Tips & pay link, pick percent or dollar presets, or turn tips off. The same presets show on Card (Stripe) checkout in the app. Staff can still type a custom tip when tips are on.

Does Card checkout send a receipt?

Under Tips & pay link, choose Ask, Auto-send when we have their email, or none for your studio receipt. Stripe’s own card receipt is off by default — turn on Also email Stripe’s card receipt if you want both. Stripe’s receipt usually shows one summary line (service names), not a full itemized ticket.

Does Void or Refund move card money?

Yes for Card (Stripe) checkouts and late-cancel fees — Ecloras refunds the charge in Stripe. Cash, Venmo, Zelle, Cash App, and Other only update your records.
